Nana: Feline Wizard – Guide, Build, Strategy
Nana is among one of the easy-to-use mage type heroes in Mobile Legends. Nana can also double as a support to the team due to its crowd control kit. Just please don’t use Nana with a marksman item build if you do not want to lose on ranked games.
Nana is still always better on a magic damage build, her spells can do more subsequent damage and burst as well rather than her physical attacks with a physical damage and attack speed build.
Lore – “Adventure is waiting for us.”
Nana was born deep in a magic forest, and as a rarSe cat elf, she was naturally endowed with powerful but hard to control magic abilities. Periodic rages of magic outburst nearly took out half of her forest home, until one day the journeying moon elf Miya restrained Nana and taught this young cat elf the secrets to controlling her magic abilities. The clever Nana quickly mastered these techniques, becoming a powerful cat elf mage. She decided to accompany Miya on her way to the land of dawn, in search of a new king together.
Nana’s passive makes her more mobile so she can easily walk out of focus during fights. It helps her greatly because as obvious as it may seem, Nana is a very much squishy hero. The more enemy units her ability hits, the more movement speed boost she gets. Its a really good passive considering her 1st and ultimate ability are both multi-hit abilities.
Her 1st ability is her main damaging spell. It has a very long range, short cooldown and does a really good damage when boosted with Magic Power items. This boomerang ability hits twice that is why the poke can really hurt enemy heroes in straight line.
Nana’s first crowd control ability, the debuff renders enemy heroes useless and defenseless on the field. The 3 second duration of sure hitting disable ability is just so terrifying. On team fights and ganks, once a target as been morphed, it surely will be a sure and easy kill for the team. This is how Nana becomes a decent support hero.
Another crowd control ability from Nana, her ultimate knocks up enemies in an area. The damage is good as well, and it also have a seemingly low cooldown for an ultimate. You will notice that you will be able to use this ultimate ability twice or even more during team fights as long as you do not die first.
Skill Build and Ability Sequence
- Max out Magic Dart first for the damage and wave clearing potential. You do not really need to rush on putting points in the Morph Spell ability as its duration is fixed on 3s per level.
- Level up Dragon Cat Summons, the ultimate ability of course every time when possible.
Skill Combo and Play style
Nana’s basic poke is just spam Magic Dart, with Morph Spell you can guarantee the double hit proc. This is Nana’s basic skill combo.
With Dragon Cat Summons ultimate, you can do Morph Spell -> Dragon Cat Summons -> Magic Dart skill combo. This is the order so that the enemy cannot react on escaping Dragon Cat Summons knock-up as it will take some time to actually hit.
As Nana, you are very free to use any Emblem from Magic, Magic Assasin, even Tank whichever has the highest level available for your account. As I had previously mentioned, physical damage build on Nana is just a troll build which you should not be using on ranked games if you want to really win so you shouldn’t be using Physical, Physical Assassin, or Jungle Emblem fragments for a serious Nana build.
- Enchanted Talisman
- +55 Magic Power. +250 HP.
- +20% Cooldown Reduction.
- Unique Passive: Mana Spring – Regen 20% total of one’s max mana every 10s.
Unlimited mana source for Nana since you will always be spamming your low-cd Magic Dart skill for the pokes and harass. The HP it gives makes you less squishy. The cooldown reduction is also a big plus. Build this as your core item.
- Magic Shoes
- +10% Cooldown Reduction
- Unique: +40 Movement Speed
You are free to experiment on boots choice for Nana. Use other boots depending on the situation. You can even use Rapid Boots to have more movement speed so that you can’t be chased at all. Just stay away with the attack speed boots. Please.
- Ice Queen Wand
- +75 Magic Power
- +15 Mana Regen
- +7% Movement Speed
- Unique Passive: Ice Bound – Skills that damage an enemy hero will carry a 15% slow down effect. This effect lasts 3s and can stack up to 2 times.
The slow on your skill hit adds more crowd control to your kit. Enemy heroes will be slowed when hit by magic dart so they will have less chance of running away, even walking away from a Dragon Cat Summons casting.
- Blood Wings
- +150 Magic Power
- +150 HP
- Unique Passive: Nirvana – Adds 2 HP for every 1 pt of magic power added.
As Nana, or even any other support hero, if you intend to last longer during fights to be able to provide more “support” to your team, you need to build up more HP. Blood Wings does that nicely especially on Magic Type support heroes.
- Glowing Wand
- +75 Magic Power
- +5% Movement Speed
- +15 Magic Penetration
- Unique Passive: Scorch – Burns the target for 3s when the skills hit, dealing 2%/2.5%/3% of the target’s current HP as magic damage, at least 10pts.
This item is just a novelty for Nana, the burn effect on every skill hit gives more damage output for Nana. The added movement speed is also nice.
- Devil Tears
- +65 Magic Power
- Unique: +40% Magic Penetration
- Unique Passive: Spellbreaker – When HP is over 70%, the unique attribute for this equipment will increase 30%.
The last item is always situational for every support builds. Normally you wouldn’t be able to do full build during your ranked games because these are fast-paced games and end up fast in most cases. You can build Devil Tears to increase your magic damage output, or you can build Immortality if you are being focused somehow during team fights. Building Courage Bulwark is also helpful to the team as a support.
